There are no decisions after you bet. In Blackjack, you decide to hit, stand, split, or double — each choice changes the expected outcome. In Poker, you choose what to fold. In Andar Bahar, your only decision is Andar or Bahar. After that, you watch. There is nothing to optimise mid-round.

The house edge is built into the payout. The first-card side wins roughly 51.5% of the time, but it pays less than even money. This small mathematical edge means the casino will always come out ahead over thousands of rounds, regardless of what strategy you use.

Rule 1 — Set a session budget

Do not bring your entire bankroll to one session. Divide it up.

If your total Andar Bahar bankroll is ₹10,000, a single session budget might be ₹2,000 or ₹2,500. When that session budget is gone, you stop — no matter what. You do not dip into tomorrow’s money. You do not add “just ₹500 more.”

Rule 2 — Use flat bets

Is this exciting? Honestly, no. It is the most boring betting approach possible. But that is exactly why it works. You never have one terrible round that wipes out ten winning rounds. Your balance moves gradually instead of crashing.

Here is how flat betting works in practice.

Say your session budget is ₹2,000 and you bet ₹100 per round. That gives you at least 20 rounds of play, guaranteed. Even if you lose more than you win, the damage per round is capped. And if you hit a decent streak, your balance grows steadily without any single bet being responsible for most of your profit.

Compare that to someone who starts at ₹100, jumps to ₹300 after a win, then pushes ₹500 on a “feeling.” One bad round erases three good ones. Flat betting avoids this entirely.

Practical tip: keep your flat bet at 2–5% of your session budget. For a ₹2,000 session, that means ₹40 to ₹100 per round.

Rule 3 — Set a win target and stop

Decide before you start playing: at what point will you walk away happy?

A reasonable target is 30–50% above your session budget. If you came with ₹2,000 and your balance hits ₹2,600 or ₹3,000, close the tab. You had a good session. Take it.

This sounds obvious, but almost nobody does it. The temptation to keep playing when you are ahead is enormous. “I am on a roll, why stop now?” Because the roll does not exist. Each round is still 50/50. The longer you play past your target, the more likely you are to give it all back.

You do not have to hit your target to have a good session. If you played for 30 minutes, stayed within your budget, and had some fun — that counts.

Rule 4 — Set a stop-loss and honour it

This is the other side of Rule 3. If you are losing, pick a point where you stop.

A common stop-loss is 50% of your session budget. Brought ₹2,000? If you drop to ₹1,000, walk away. No negotiation, no exceptions, no “one more round to win it back.”

Chasing losses is the fastest way to go broke at any casino game. Your brain tells you that you are “due for a win.” You are not. The cards do not owe you anything. Every round is a fresh coin flip, completely disconnected from the rounds before.

Losing half your session budget stings. Losing all of it stings a lot more. The stop-loss exists to protect you from the worse outcome.

Rule 5 — Set a time limit

Andar Bahar rounds are fast. At a live dealer table, you can easily play 40–60 rounds in half an hour. In RNG mode, even faster.

This speed is dangerous because you lose track of how long you have been playing and how many rounds have passed. Fifty rounds at ₹100 per round means ₹5,000 in total wagers — even if your balance only swings by a few hundred.

Set a timer on your phone. Twenty to thirty minutes is a healthy session length. When the timer goes off, evaluate: are you up? Down? Tired? Bored? Making decisions you would not normally make?

If any of those last three apply, stop. The table will be there tomorrow.

What about progressive betting systems?

Fibonacci (bet the sum of your last two bets after a loss)

Paroli (double after a win)

Side bets in Andar Bahar ask you to predict how many cards will be dealt before the match. Payouts range from 3× for a quick match to 500× or more for very long rounds.

The appeal is obvious. Who does not want a 500× return?

The problem is the house edge. Main bet house edge is around 2–3%. Side bet house edge can be 5%, 8%, or even higher depending on the specific range and provider. You are paying a steep premium for the excitement.

If you enjoy side bets, keep them small. A practical rule: never put more than 10% of your round’s total wager on side bets. If you are betting ₹100 on Andar, put ₹10 on a side bet — or skip it entirely.

Andar or Bahar — does it matter which you pick?

A realistic example

You sit down at a live Andar Bahar table with a session budget of ₹3,000. Your flat bet is ₹100 per round. You set a win target of ₹4,000 and a stop-loss of ₹1,500. You set a 25-minute timer.

Rounds 1–10: five wins, five losses. Balance is ₹2,900 (slight net loss because one win paid 0.9 to 1).

Rounds 11–18: six wins, two losses. Balance climbs to ₹3,400.

Round 19: you win again. Balance is ₹3,500.

Your timer still has eight minutes left. Your balance is up but short of the ₹4,000 target. What do you do?

A disciplined player has two good options: keep playing until either the timer runs out or the target is reached, whichever comes first. Or stop now, happy with a ₹500 profit on a 19-round session.

The wrong move is turning off the timer, raising your bet to ₹300 “to reach the target faster,” and playing for another hour. That is how ₹3,500 becomes ₹1,000.
